The Prima Keyboard Tray from KV Waterloo is an exceptionally sturdy keyboard tray that incorporates an adjustable mousing surface which can be pivoted toward the user on either the left or right side. The rigid mousing surface easily slides to the right or left as required or can even be fully stored beneath the keyboard. The ease with which the mousing surface can be re-positioned makes this tray a good selection for someone who has limited width for tray storage (with the mousing surface centered for storage the tray is only 19" wide) but who wishes to spread their mouse use between both left and right hands. The roughly 7.5" by 8" mousing surface will accommodate most mice but may not be suitable for use with some of the larger more specialized ergonomic mousing solutions as it has a 1/8" ridge along the rear edge that may limit the possible range of mouse movement.

The Prima Keyboard Tray is equipped with a fairly firm removable palm support, an integrated handle for ease of movement, convenient cable guides for both mouse and keyboard, and a simple flip-up single-page inline document holder

The Prima Tray is thicker than some other trays due to the inclusion of the sliding mousing surface. As a result it does elevate the keyboard higher off the keyboard arm. Users who wish to keep the keyboard and mouse as low as possible without interfering with the movement of the legs may wish to consider other options which present a lower profile.

The WorkRite UB185-25 Keyboard Platform from WorkRite Ergonomics offers users several features. The keyboard platform is formed from 0.25" thick composite, resulting in a sturdy rigid surface with minimal flex. This large 26.75" wide x 11.5" deep platform is equipped with a raised rear keyboard guard with built-in cable routing, a rear mouse guard/cable retainer, a detachable foam padded leatheretter palmrest, and a low-friction 8.25" square mousing surface. All of these are detachable, facilitating assembly for users requiring either a right or left mousing zone.

With the palm rest installed there is about 7.5" of depth available for the keyboard. When the palm rest is removed that depth increases to 10.25". Due to the limited depth this tray is not recommended for use with central pointing devices. It also needs to be remembered that the palm rest runs the entire width of the tray and therefore has the potential to interfere with the appropriate use of many of the specialized ergonomic mice.

The Banana Board Keyboard Tray from WorkRite Ergonomics is an ideal solution when there is a need to reduce the reach for the mouse. The innovative sliding curved mousing surface from which the Banana Board gets its name "pivots" or "slides" through a track on the underside of the keyboard tray. Due to the pivoting action and curved design the end result is that the mousing surface is positioned about 3" closer than the keyboard tray itself. This means that smaller individuals are able to keep their mouse much closer than it would normally be on a traditional rectangular tray and eliminate the potential for overreaching. The fact that the mousing surface is effortlessly repositioned to either the left or right means it works equally well for both right and left-handed use and can encourage load-balancing by making it easier to switch between right and left-handed mousing throughout the day.

The Banana Board features extremely sturdy construction. The metal mounting plate also serves as the storage track for the sliding 0.25" thick rigid composite mousing surface. The keyboard tray itself is 19" wide by 13" deep and comes with a detachable 3" deep leatherette-covered foam palm support. Because the tray only needs to accommodate a keyboard it is also possible to deploy a separated keyboard with up to 3" of separation. The tray surface also features two grip pads to keep keyboards firmly in place. The sliding "banana board" mousing surface sits 0.5" below the keyboard tray and has a low-friction surface on both ends to ensure optimum mouse control. A retaining strip runs along the rear of the mousing surface and cables can be routed through the dual guides in the rear of the keyboard tray. The curved design of the mousing surface also makes the Banana Board a good solution for inside curved and angled corners by moving the mouse away from the desk where interference with free movement may occur.

This tray allows easy height, tilt, and swivel positioning of your keyboard. While it does offer both height and tilt adjustment these cannot be adjusted independent of each other, i.e. any adjustment requires resetting of both height and tilt. It includes a full-width leatherette-covered gel palm pad (with anti-microbial protection; 3M model WR340LE) and a 7.25" x 6.25" 3M Precise Optical Mousing Surface (MP200PS) that can be positioned to the left or right. Installation is done without tools in four easy steps, typically in less than 10 minutes. The sliding track is attached via an adhesive strip and the front is secured by hooking the front lip over the desk edge. Also, the keyboard tray is storable, but not fully under the desk (3.0" protrusion); and the tray itself is made of coated MDF (Medium Density Fiber) board.

The Kinesis Solution Phenolic Tray from Kinesis is a strong, non-flexing tray with an ultra-thin profile. The bowed back edge has a lip about 1/4" high to prevent your keyboard and mouse from falling off whenever the tray is adjusted to a negative incline. The trays come in two models of width - 26" and 30".

The 3M Under Desk Keyboard Drawer from 3M provides a simple, storable keyboard and mouse workspace. The drawer is suspended from the underside of the desk and offers keyboard heights of 1.5", 2.25" and 3.25" below the desk underside with ball-bearing tracks on each side facilitating easy storage. The storable mousing surface can be configured for use on either the right or left sides and includes a Precise Mouse Pad to optimize wireless mouse battery life. It also includes a removable anti-microbial treated leatherette gel palm rest.

With a total width of just 19" but a depth of over 12.5", the Diagonal Keyboard Tray from Humanscale is designed to fit in angled corners that are tighter than average. The 15.5" long rear edge angles outward at 45º to get to the full 19" width. The rigid phenolic tray features foam rubber keyboard gripper strips to ensure the keyboard is securely positioned. The tray is also capable of accepting the optional palm support. This keyboard tray can be equipped with an optional swing-out mousing surface to accomodate a traditional mouse but is also deep enough for a central pointing device such as a RollerMouse or Mousetrapper.

The Retractable Mousing Platform can be attached directly to the underside of a desktop surface or between a keyboard arm and tray. The mousing surface can easily be stored out of the way when not in use. The platform requires a mounting area of 19" x 10.25" and offers an 8.5" x 8.5" usable mousing/writing surface. When used with a keyboard tray (20" width maximum) and arm, the writing platform can be pulled out on the left or right hand side. An integrated safety stop ensures that the working surface cannot be accidentally overextended. The unit is composed of a black metal mounting bracket with a black vinyl-coated MDF board.

This tray is composed of 0.375" ABS plastic topped with 0.375" foam, which helps keep keyboards in place. The guard at the back prevents damage to keyboards when the tray is retracted and prevents the mouse from sliding off when using negative tilt. The slot cutouts for cables provide cord management. The standard hole pattern fits most articulating arms.

This unit attaches to any standard keyboard arm. The keyboard area is 21.75" x 11.5" (55.2 cm x 29.2 cm), and provides ample room for ergonomic keyboards or conventional keyboards and gel supports. The usable mousing / writing surface is 8.5" x 8.5" (21.6 cm x 21.6 cm). The retractable mouse platform is mounted under the tray and pulls out from either side.
